Himeji - Japan
On our way back from Nagasaki and Fukuoka we had a short day trip to the Himejijo, a gorgeous castle from the 17. hunderts. It still looks really well maintained and majestic. Imagine living there in the past. It was mostly used as a hiding spot and is quite dark in the incide, as each bigger window would be a weak point. The outside makes up with its white walls and the far view. We didn’t see any of the city, as we just walked to the castle and back, but sometimes while having a tight scheudle you need to make priorities.
Isn’t it impressive?
All the beautiful details, such a masterpiece.
View from inside the castle. There is also a japanese garden nearby which is supposed to be really beautiful, but we sadly didn’t have the time to view it. Maybe next time 😉
Samurai uniform, you can also see other museum displays in the castle, but mostly the rooms stayed empty to not take from the impression of the castle itself.
Even the streets in Himeji are proud of their castle.
