Kyoto - Japan II

Even though it is super touristic, but no Japan visit is complete without paying Kyoto a visit. At least to me. I revisited some places which I already adored last time, but also visited some new. But again, the words speak for it self. Since I visited some new places this time, there still have a look as you might see new sites worth a visit. The last blog ist already stunning as well and with some sites I didn’t revisits this time, so have a look at my Kyoto impressions from 2016 as well.

But still, next time I will visit again, as there are still so many places in and around Kyoto that I didn’t manage to see in the days we had this and also the last time. Touristic, yes, but gorgeous! One of my favorite places to visit!

Fushimi-Inari Shrine

Not that this shrine area is not allready impressive enough. This time there was a huge festivity. There was a theater playing as you see on the picture below as well as a religious ceremony with musik and the burning of small wooden peaces. It was mezmerising!

The musik really went under my skin!

Again we walked through thousants of this "gates"!

Kinkaku-ji

The golden temple, this time with blue sky so it could shine even more!

Kiyomizu

All the loving details on this temple!

I’d really love to have one of those lanterns!

Not just a beautiful temple but a great view as well, especially at sunset.

Ginkaku-ji

Zhen garden at the Hogonin Temple.

Make a wish!

View at Ginkaku-ji.

Kōdaiji Temple

Bamboo grove, near the temple.

Ninenzaka & Yasaka Pagoda

Ninenzaka and Sannenzaka are such a busy streets with so many nicely dressed up people.

Hōkan-ji Temple (Yasaka Pagoda) a beautiful pagoda in the middle of the streets, many shots from Kyoto are taken in the area with the pagoda in the background.

Yasaka

Ninomaru-goten Palace

My first time at the royal palace. It was the only place where they looked into our bags but we also got headphones to learn something about the area. It was super interesting, with loads of beautiful builings and a cute garden. You are not allowed to explore the full area, but there is still loads to see.

Kyoto Station

View at the Kyoto Tower from the station day and night.

The station itself is worth a visit as well. The bridge you see above is a sky walk with a great view. My fear of hights hindered me to go, but my partner loved the view.

Sushi no Musashi in the food court of the Kyoto Station. We actually went on three different days. The second time we took it to go. It was so tasty and as it is a food belt you freely choose which ones you want to try. One of the best sushis I ever had!
