Tokyo - Japan II

Like I already said in the post about Kyoto from last week, some cities need to be visitied multiple times an Tokyo is also one of them. In my last Tokyo blog I feel like you could really see how much I fell for Japan and the city. I’m still in love with it so much! So here are some more impressions of this mega city.

Metropolitan Government Building

This time I skipped the view points where you have to pay and went straigt to the Metropolitan Government Building which is totally for free and as you can see the view is worth a visit!

This is how the building looks from the outside. The surrounding areas are nice at night as well.

Omoide Yokocho Memory Lane

Small food shops, we only ate at one. But normally you would eat a little in different ones.

The view right in front of the lane.

Golden Gai

Not far from the place above you can also find the bar area Golden Gai, where you have a drink or two in diverse small bars. As I don’t drink alkohol anymore we just walked through and enjoyed the good mood of the people visiting.

Akihabara

Akihabara, the best place to shop manga, anime or technology. But it also has a big number of gaming halls and we had a gorgeous vegetarian ramen soup, which was great as we don’t eat pork and most places use pork soup as a base.

Shibuya Crossing

Shibuya Crossing in the middle of the day. From there we walked through the city to the Takeshita Street passing by loads of gread shopping areas.

A rare “selfie” 😉

Takeshita Street

Didn’t buy anything this time, but my partner found some great sneakers he still is happy about each time he wears them 🩶

Asakusa Sensoji Temple

Asakusa Sensoji Temple in the middle of the city was as crowded but beautiful as ever. This time I met some cute dressed up girls. After I took the picture beside, the older girl waved me, came over and asked me in a shy english, if she could have a picture with me. Seems like a blond girl was as special for them as they dressed up in their kimonos where for me. What a great moment.

“Beautiful! Life is beautiful” - That is what this graffiti right beside this temple reads in german language. Their right! And even more beautiful when traveling 😉

Tokyo Imperial Palace

The Tokyo Imperial Palace, it only opens a few days a week for a limited time and sadly yet again all slots where booked, but we made it to the gardens that are open to public.

Tsukiji Outer Market

Fish and sea food at its best, as it is straight from the ships. We tried small portions on so many differents stores and loved it! Please go hungry 😉

The tuna variations and this omlett was my favorite together with the shrimp skewers.

Btw, this time we tried a capsule hotel, just to try once, and be sure, I’ll not do it again 😆 I had a capsule above and below those are others that you can enter from the different side so you don’t step on someone comming out when you exit. The mattress was hard, it was louder than in other normal hostels I had, but at least it was fancy and luckily we just tried for one night and then had a normal hotel…

This fast one brought us to the south.

Fuji San🏔️ For the first time ever we were lucky on our was from Tokyo south, where we catched a look on this gorgeous mountain. First the tip was still covered in clouds but shortly before we got out of view he showed himself fully 🖤
