Turkish Riviera

During the Corona years when we have moved back to Germany, we decided that even though the risk was still there we needed a break. So, in 2021 and 2022 we took a week each at an all-inclusive resort in the Turkish Riviera. In a hotel with all inclusive there would at least just be a limited amount of people to be in contact with, at least compared to the way we usually travel by changing hotels every few nights and eating at different places every day.

Alanya

The first one was in Alanya and a little smaller with no animation, just the ocean and great food and I actually enjoyed it. We didn’t go to the markets or mingle in restaurants apart from the one in our hotel. We walked or sat by the ocean each day and on one day did a day trip to a castle on a mountain. It was a super relaxing time.

Kleopatra Beach

This was the terrace where we had breakfast, lunch and dinner every day.

I do love a stormy ocean!

Nothing beats a sunset and we experienced one every night.

Alanya Kalesi

The castle of Alanya is on a mountain at the tip of Alanya and therefore perfectly positioned for protection. A cable car takes you up, we had to wear masks in it due to Corona, but you can also hike up or down. On one side you have the view back to the Kleopatra Beach, as you see below.

Luckily we stayed at the other end of the beach, where it was not crowded at all.

At the other side to the east you have a view to Alanyas harbour.

Look at all those pirat like tourist ships 😄

Suleymaniye Mosque.

Weirdly shaped trees on the mountain 😄

View south at the Dil Varna Burnu.

Walking down the Atatürk Boulevart at night.

Flying out of Antalya

Manavgat

The second resort in Manavgat was way bigger, with shows each day and a water park for kids. They had a sauna and an indoor pool with sport events and all. But honestly, I wouldn’t go there again. Don’t get me wrong, the food choices where way bigger and really tasty, it was all clean and fancy, but also too crowded. I tried to avoid the shows as much as possible. I don’t need semi good singers or actors trying to make a show and drunk tourists clapping for them... So, I prefer less food choice and quieter over this big resort.

Also, the weather was quite moody some days, but that’s nature. On top of it my boyfriend got sick during our stay, so I had the beach walks myself while he was sleeping to recharge. I hope the next Turkey visit will be greater 😉
