Squamish - Canada
I visited Squamish tree times. It lies on the Sea to Sky Highway not far from Vancouver. Once in November and the year after in June and September. It is a hub for adventure sport like diverse water sports e.g. wild water wrafting, climbing and so on. The first and second trip were super moody and cloudy on the third we finally got some sun and blue sky.
Shannon Falls
Short stop beside the highway and not far from the parking lot you find this waterfall.
Howe Sound
This surfer is not attached to the boat but riding the wave behind it, while we were dressed in jackets.
Electric surf boards. This must be so much fun!
Look at these trucks! I would love to drive one just to try. Must be a great feeling. (Click on the pictures to enlarge)
Stawamus Chief
The Stawamus Chief showing himself for a second...
... and was gon the next.
During the last trip we could see the Chief in its full beauty and were even able to climb up it. For that I had to log into a website at 6am to book a morning or aftenoon time frame for the hike. Due to Covid the number of people being able to make the hike was strickly restricted. We got a slot for the afternoon hike but since I already had to wakeup early I got some nice shot short before sunrise.
The hike up the Chief was hard for me. It consists of loads of stairs and later some ropes and handles to get up to one of the peak. Since our time was restricted and the sun was about to slowly settle we decided to only take one peake as the second would have taken some more time and it was to be even harder to climb.
Howe Sound from above. Already pretty high but still far from the peak.
Squamish from above just a few 100 meters from the top. I didn’t manage to hike the rest, as I panicked due to my fear of hights.
Thats what was left for me to hike, but my knees woudn’t stop shaking, so I decided to not push me further. My boyfriend went all the way up and behind the peak it was going down pretty steep, so it was okay for me to not try.
As you see on this picture, it was end of day on a Sunday, so all the people went home direction Vancouver from their weekend trips and stuffed the highway.
Alice Lake
I really don´t know what makes this lake so green in November, must be some algae, but it makes a stunning look! I was all quiet and misty with unique patterns on the water.
Refelection on the pattern in the lake.
Rain forest feels.
Same lake, but still a different season. On our trip in June a year later the water was clear like a normal lake, and people enyojed swimming in it.
