Holbox - Mexico
Holbox is a beautiful island in Yucatán north of Valladolid. You cross over by ferry and there are no cars from the outside allowed on the island. Most is in walking distance anyways. We chose a hotel in the quieter part west of the main and only town on the island. We chose to visit due to the beautiful nature of this island and to relax a few days. I didn’t take many pictures, not because there wasn’t beauty to aim at, but because I needed some relaxing moments without catching all of them with my camera. The water around the island is stunning. The ocean in the north and a lagoon in the south. Most of the island is not inhabited but you can explore walking, with some quads or by boat.
Not far from our Hotel was the Carolinda Beach Club, where we spend almost two and a half full days just relaxing on their beach lounger and refreshened in the ocean in between. Their shrimp tacos where super tasty btw 😉
The Hotel Casa Margot was the tropical beauty where we stayed at.
The only downfall where the mosquitos as soon as the sun started to descend. They where brutal and you had to rush into your room to not any enter and bathe in mosquito spray… They love the area due to the lagoon, so come prepared, then they leave you alone 😉
