Kelowna - Canada

Got to Kelowna late at night but luckily had two more days to explore! Kelowna got recommended to me by a coworker from Germany. He visited it over a decade ago, maybe even two, he can’t remember, but since he knew I was going to travel through Canada he told me about this city a couple of times because it was his favorite. So, I marked it on Google maps and when I was looking for a stop between the Rocky Mountains and Vancouver, I decided to visit Kelowna. It is a cute city with some nice hiking possibilities. If you have a mountainbike even better, they have loads of paths for bikes up and down the mountains. If you are a wine drinker this might be your paradise too 😉

Bear Creek Provincial Park

This area offers a nice hike up and around a creek with a beautiful view over to Kelowna Downtown 😊

View at the downtown area across the okanagan lake.

Here you can see the bear creek from across the okanagan lake.

Knox Mountain Park

Drove up this mountain for a great view. You can also hike or drive up by bicycle. The best part about it though was a nice talk to the caretaker of this place. He lives in a house on the mountain taking care of the area and even made himself friends with some of the animals. He saved the mom of this deer and feeds them every now and then. He was such a nice guy und we had a good talk and he gave me some good advice about going to what to do next. It’s always great to meet new people.

Cute city from above 😉

Getting a snak before the winter kicks in.

Myra Canyon Trestles

And this is where he recommended me to go 😊 You can rent a bicycle or just walk by the old train trestles like I did. It’s a beautiful area with a great view and I really enjoyed it with the sun coming through the clouds every now and then. Loads of trees in this area are dead by a fire who burned down some of the trestles as well. But they got reconstructed and the nature is rebuilding itself.

Suddenly there was a rainbow.

Tunnel for the trains back then.

Mission Creek Regional Park

A nice park area to walk around, didn't do much pictures at it though.

As kids my siter and I always played around with these "fruits" throwing them to the ground and when you’ll step on then they make a popping sound :D

Kelowna Watersite & Downtown

Big tree at the Kelowna City Park.

Kelowna Sails statue.

The Bear.

Waterfront Park.

Tugboat Bay.

Dolphins Statue.

Saw a few of them in the city, isn't that a lovely idea?

This it how it looks like in my head 😉

Autumn was still there, since it was early October when I visited Kelowna. Still need to catch up with the blogging 😉
